CLIENT CONFIDENCE AND ONLINE VISIBILITY

E-commerce customers in the Nordic region – Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark – are the biggest spenders in Europe. This represents some great opportunities for retail companies from other countries, in sectors such as fashion, home decoration, food or electronics.

When it comes to online sales, speaking the same language as your clients will increase your customer’s confidence and demonstrates a helpful attitude. Not only that, local search engines – such as google.fi – show relevant results for every specific language and country; so, if you translate your content into Finnish, your website will appear on search results when people are searching for products and services online.

It is not coincidence that Dustin -one of the leading Nordic resellers of IT products in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland – offers multilingual versions of their website for every specific country.

Thanks to more than 15 years’ experience in the language industry, and our expertise in the e-commerce sector, we can help you to personalize and adapt interactive catalogues, inventories, customer reviews and email orders.

THE LANGUAGE

Finnish, along with Estonian, is part of the Baltic-Finnic sub group of the Finno-Ugrian languages. It is spoken by around six million speakers in Finland and some parts of Russia.

Would you like to know some interesting facts about it?

  • The number of case forms for nouns is staggering: fifteen!
  • There is no word for ‘please’.
  • ‘Lentokonesuihkuturbiinimoottoriapumekaanikkoaliupseerioppilas’ is the longest word in this language. It means ‘airplane jet turbine engine auxiliary mechanic non-commissioned officer student’.
